Our Story

We were married in 2015, and just 8 weeks after saying “I do”, we moved from California to Wisconsin to attend “New Tribes Bible Institute" (now Ethnos360 Bible Institute). We both worked part-time while doing full-time schooling. After completing our associates degrees in Biblical Studies, the Lord made a way for us to continue on to the Missionary Training Center (now “Ethnos360 Training”) in Missouri. We spent two years there being equipped for the realities of cross-cultural church planting in remote contexts, and our first daughter, Eleanor, was born during our time there.

After graduating with our Bachelor degrees in cross-cultural ministry, we returned to California to continue partnership development for long-term service in the Philippines. While engaging in partnership development, we also served as resident advisors for our sending church’s discipleship program from 2019-2020. Toward the end of our time helping with the discipleship program, our second daughter, Lily was born. In January, 2022 the borders to the Philippines opened up after a long border closure, and we made the long flight with our two small children to the Philippines. A couple of weeks later we made one more flight to our current home on a southern island.

The Lord has graciously established us in the local church and given us favor is learning the language and culture of the people. In October, 2023 we officially “checked out” of our official language and culture study of the trade language known as “Bisaya.” We are so thankful for the Lord’s grace in sustaining us, and grateful for the many people who pray and give to help us continue in ministry in our location.
